Warehouse A at the United States Army Military Ocean Terminal is located between 58th and 63rd Streets and 2nd Avenue and Upper New York Bay in Brooklyn, NY.  This vast building, with 1,750,000 square feet of usable space, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing resource of the United States Army Military Ocean Terminal complex.

The Army complex was first put to use at the end of World War I for the return of both troops and materials. The complex was again put to its full use during World War II when it was one of the primary points of debarkation in the United StatesIn the 1960s, the Navy occupied portions of the site, as did the United States Post Office in the 1970s. The complex was vacated by the Government in 1975 and sold to the City of New York in 1981. Since that time, the complex was leased to various small businesses, but has received no comprehensive development plan.

Constructed in 1919 of reinforced tan concrete, Warehouse A is eight stories high along the east elevation and nine stories along the west elevation.  Cass Gilbert, a prominent New York City architect, designed the Commercial Style warehouse in 1919 along with three other buildings in the complex (Warehouse B, the Administration Building and the Boiler House).

With Powers & Company, Inc. serving as the historic preservation consultant, the southern one-third of the building will be rehabilitated and converted into lab and office space using the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentives Program.
