The Queen Theater

The Queen Theater, located at 500-504 N. Market Street in downtown Wilmington, DE, is presently being rehabilitated using the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Credit Incentive program.  In the fall of 2007, Powers & Company, Inc. was contracted to provide historic preservation consultation services for this exciting project.  The vacant building is being converted into a performing arts and restaurant space.

The Queen Theater, included in the Old Town Hall Commercial National Historic District, was extensively altered in 1915 when the Wilmington Amusement Company purchased the c. 1873 hotel and converted the structure into a theater.  The "Queen" operated as a theater until 1959.
