Board of Education Building, Philadelphia, PA

The Board of Education Building is actively being rehabilitated from a vacant building into market rate residential units. Powers & Company, Inc. is providing preservation services to secure Historic Preservation Tax Credits for the rehabilitation.

Designed by Philadelphia architect Irwin J. Catherine in 1932, the building is considered to be Catherine's most significant work. As a testament to the strength of public education, the building served as an anchor of the city planning efforts around the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The Neoclassical building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
