In 2004, Concord Management hired Powers & Company, Inc. to nominate the Buckeye Building in downtown Columbus, OH to the National Register as part of a plan to rehabilitate this building into a Marriott Residence Inn. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 13, 2005. Powers & Company, Inc. completed a Part 2 application of the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentives program and the rehabilitation was finished in 2008.

The Buckeye State Building and Loan Company Building stands prominently in downtown Columbus, OH at 36-42 E. Gay Street, on the northeast corner of E. Gay and Pearl Streets. A 15-story office building with a grand banking hall on the ground floor, the construction of the building began in 1926 and ended in 1927. This recognizable edifice served as a main banking headquarters for the Buckeye State Building and Loan Company (which was known after 1949 as the Buckeye Federal Savings and Loan Association) from its completion date through 1990. The office tower portion of the building continued to function as such through 2004. The Buckeye Building is significant for its role as the home of the Buckeye State Building and Loan Company (also known as the Buckeye Federal Savings and Loan Association after 1949). The building is also significant in the area of architecture as an outstanding example of the Classical Revival style, and as a major work by the New York City architecture firm of Hopkins & Dentz.
