Firm Profile:
Powers & Company, Inc. is a national consulting firm specializing
in the preservation, conservation and restoration of historic
structures. Formed in 1995, the firm consists of a full-service
professional team of architectural consultants, historians,
and conservators. We have an established reputation having
successfully completed hundreds of diverse rehabilitation
and restoration projects and have been recognized for outstanding
work by the Association for Preservation Technology (APT),
Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, and the Pennsylvania
Historical and Museum Commission.
Common across all projects is our ability to problem-solve
and craft practical solutions with clients that are sensitive
to preservation and development issues. We serve a diverse
client base of architects, developers, government agencies,
corporations, educational institutions and historic house
museums.
Robert Powers, President, combines a strong background in
both architectural conservation with a thorough understanding
of city, state and national historic preservation policy and
programs. Prior to starting Powers and Company, he honed his
skills administering the Federal Historic Preservation Tax
Incentive Program for 17 states with the National Park Service.
In addition, he developed conservation recommendations for
significant landmarks including the Taj Mahal in India.
